The CHINOOKEstablished in April 2009, Chinook ÉTS has welcomed many students during its existence. It is out of a passion for engineering and the firm conviction of being able to advance the development of clean technologies that some twenty students from various disciplines have joined forces in the challenge of the Chinook. Whether they are in mechanical, electrical, software or automated production engineering, everyone has their role to play within the team to meet this colorful technical challenge. Over the past few years, the team has overcome several challenges by optimizing the power transmission systems, improving the aerodynamic profiles of the vehicle as well as continuously improving the efficiency of the blades and the diffuser.
Our MissionAt present, sustainable development and the environment are at the heart of the concerns to preserve our living environments as we know them. We find ourselves at a decisive moment in the global movement that has been undertaken in force by the students who will be the professionals of tomorrow. To take this direction, we must mobilize our energies to develop green energies without slowing down technological developments. This is exactly the niche of the Chinook ÉTS science club: finding innovative solutions to very real problems in transportation and energy. In concrete terms, dozens of students work hard every year to manufacture and assemble a wind-powered vehicle.
